In response to a rise in residential home invasions and burglaries, Morris County law enforcement has announced plans to fully leverage a new law to prosecute home invaders to the maximum extent.
The Morris County Prosecutor’s Office reports that, both in the county and across New Jersey, thieves have shifted from stealing vehicles with key fobs left inside to entering occupied homes in search of key fobs and valuables. This escalation increases the risk of dangerous confrontations, as some of the intruders have been found carrying firearms and other weapons, according to the Prosecutor’s Office.
