NJ Transit rolled out a system-wide rail schedule change effective Sunday, May 31, 2026, and the update touches nearly every train on the Morris and Essex Lines that Denville commuters rely on. Departure times, station stops, and connection windows have shifted across the line.
Some of the most notable changes start at Dover Station, where Denville-bound and Manhattan-bound riders board. Train 6612, the 6:13 a.m. departure from Dover, now adds a Secaucus Junction stop at 7:30 a.m. and arrives at New York Penn Station at 7:44 a.m. Train 6614, previously a 6:44 a.m. departure from Dover, now leaves at 6:45 a.m., adds a Millburn stop, and drops its South Orange stop.
The 8:32 a.m. Train 626 from Dover no longer originates at Dover. It now starts at Morristown and departs at 8:48 a.m. Commuters in Denville, Dover, and Morris Plains who relied on that train should switch to Train 6624 at 8:08 a.m. or Train 6628 at 9:08 a.m. from Dover.
The Morris and Essex Lines also remain under a track-work advisory that began the week of May 26, with possible delays during repairs. With this many moving pieces, the safest move is to look up specific trains in the NJ Transit app before heading to the platform.
