If you’ve written a book or are thinking about writing one, you might wonder what happens next. On January 28, from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM, Seth Fishman, a Vice President and Literary Agent at The Gernert Company, will explain the early steps of publishing a book during a virtual talk.

The Gernert Company is a large literary agency with offices in New York and Los Angeles. It represents over 500 authors, including well-known writers like John Grisham, Louise Penny, and Liz Moore. They work with many types of books, including fiction and nonfiction.

In his talk, Fishman will cover important topics like:

  • What agents look for when authors send them their work.
  • When and how to submit your writing to an agent.
  • What happens after an agent agrees to represent you.
  • How agents help you prepare your book for publishers, including editing and revisions.

The presentation will last 90 minutes, with 30 minutes for audience questions. You can register to receive a recording if you can’t attend the live session.

This talk will teach attendees more about the publishing process and how agents can help authors bring their books to readers. It is designed to be helpful for anyone at the start of their publishing journey.
