Dr. Steven Forte, Superintendent of the Denville Township School District, has announced his retirement, effective July 1, 2026. His departure will conclude 12 years in the role and a 36-year career in education.
Forte informed the community of his decision on March 11, 2025, providing over 15 months’ notice to allow for a transition period. He stated his commitment to ensuring continuity for students and staff through the remainder of his tenure.
A Denville resident since 2002, Forte has been involved in the local community, with his children attending district schools. During his time as superintendent, he has focused on collaboration and community engagement.
The Denville Township School District serves 1,750 students across two elementary schools and a middle school.
