Morris Catholic Class of 2026 Graduates 98 Seniors in Denville

Ninety-eight Morris Catholic High School seniors received their diplomas on June 4 during a commencement ceremony in the school gym in Denville, NJ. Bishop Kevin J. Sweeney of the Diocese of Paterson distributed the diplomas during the ceremony, which included a Mass concelebrated by Father Peter Clarke, the school’s president, along with Father Paul Manning, vicar for evangelization and education of the Paterson Diocese, and Father Carmen Buono, a retired diocesan priest who serves as a part-time chaplain at Morris Catholic.

Jack Smitreski was named valedictorian of the Class of 2026, and Oliva Lopes was named salutatorian. Together, the 98 graduates earned a total of $20,541,477 in scholarships and financial aid.

Morris Catholic, a private Catholic high school serving students in grades 9 through 12, is one of two high schools located in Denville Township in Morris County. The school ranks among the top private schools in New Jersey in recent national reviews.

Families, faculty, and staff gathered in the gym to celebrate the milestone before graduates moved on to college, military service, and the workforce.
