The New Jersey State Rental Assistance Program (SRAP) offers housing subsidies to very low-income residents, ensuring access to safe and sanitary living conditions. Eligible participants must meet specific income and residency requirements. Applicants must be New Jersey residents aged 18 or older. 6,000 households will be chosen for the program’s waiting list through a lottery system.

Important Information

  1. Enrollment Period: The application window opens at 9:00 a.m. on January 13, 2025, and closes at 5:00 p.m. on January 31, 2025 (Eastern Time).
  2. How to Apply: Pre-applications can only be submitted online via the official website. Assistance is available in 90 languages to ensure accessibility.
  3. Priority Preferences: Special consideration is given to veterans, homeless individuals, senior citizens (62+), individuals with disabilities, and local residents.
  4. Selection Process: Pre-applications are chosen through a computerized lottery system. Submission does not guarantee a spot on the waiting list or eligibility for a housing voucher.

Applicants must provide all household members’ names, birthdates, Social Security numbers, household income details, and an email address. Only one pre-application per household per county is permitted, and duplicate submissions will be disqualified.
