Riviera Maya, the family-owned Mexican restaurant at 116 US Route 46 in Rockaway, is heading into spring and summer 2026 as one of the busiest stretches of the year for the Morris County staple.
Owners Jesus and his wife first opened Riviera Maya in 2007 at a Sussex County location in Branchville before expanding into Rockaway. Almost two decades in, the Route 46 spot has built a loyal following across Denville, Rockaway, and the surrounding towns for its tableside guacamole prepared fresh at the table, slow-cooked birria tacos, sizzling fajitas, and a margarita menu that features nine different variations on the rocks or frozen.
For spring and summer 2026, the kitchen is leaning into the dishes that draw the biggest crowds when the weather turns. Signature plates include the Supreme Burrito, Quesadilla Maya, Tacos Al Pastor, and Cochinita Pibil, all built around fresh ingredients and scratch-made salsas. Riviera Maya also offers family meal packs built for four to six or eight to ten people, a popular pick for Mother’s Day brunches, Memorial Day cookouts, graduation parties, and Father’s Day gatherings throughout May and June.
Riviera Maya is open seven days a week in 2026. Monday through Thursday and Sunday hours run 11:30 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., with Friday and Saturday extended to 10:00 p.m. The restaurant takes reservations and offers delivery, takeout, and dine-in, along with a full bar and happy hour menu.
The Rockaway location can be reached at 862-209-1999. Residents can view the full menu, order online, or book a table at rivieramayanj.com.
