Denville Schools Make Top Grades in US News & World Report Ranking

Denville Pre-K Through Grade 8 District in Top 10%-13% at Elementary and Middle School Levels

The US News & World Report’s 2026 school rankings gave high marks to the Denville Township School District’s Pre-K to Grade 8 schools.

In the publication’s 2026 ranking of New Jersey elementary and middle schools, Valleyview Middle School placed 140. The US News evaluationranked the Denville Township middle school in the 90th percentile across the state of New Jersey. US News compared Valleyview to 1,436 other New Jersey middle schools, including public and magnet schools.

The top 10% performance review of Valleyview considered key measures like student proficiency on state assessments in mathematics and reading/language arts, performance of underserved students on those same assessments, student-teacher ratio, and student achievement as compared to expected levels given the students’ backgrounds.

Similarly, Lakeview and Riverview Elementary schools ranked in the 89th and 87th percentile respectively. Both were measured against 2,339 New Jersey public and magnet elementary schools.

U.S. News & World Report has been producing annual education rankings for over 40 years. In addition to the key measures listed above, US News & World Report also utilized information compiled and organized in the  U.S. Department of Education’s Common Core of Data.

New Jersey’s Denville Township School District is a Pre-K through Grade 8 School District consisting of 3 schools and 1,700 students.
