The Denville Township Police Department recently marked a transition in leadership, celebrating the retirement of Chief Frank Perna and the swearing-in of Chief Scott Welsch.

Chief Perna retired after 31 years of service with the department, recognized for his leadership and dedication to public safety. He played a key role in strengthening community relations and enhancing law enforcement operations in Denville. As he steps into retirement, the department and community acknowledge his years of service and contributions.

Stepping into the role of Chief of Police is Scott Welsch, who has been with the department for 24 years. Chief Welsch has demonstrated strong leadership and a commitment to public safety, earning the confidence of the department and community. He now takes on the responsibility of leading the police force and continuing efforts to serve and protect Denville.

A ceremony attended by law enforcement officials and community members honored both leaders, recognizing their dedication and contributions to the township.
