Denville students head back to class on Tuesday, Sept. 8, 2026, according to the 2026-2027 calendar posted by the Denville Township School District.

The start is staggered. Staff report for training on Sept. 2 and 3, and schools and district offices are closed Monday, Sept. 7 for Labor Day. Students walk in the following morning.

Two dates land before that. The Board of Education holds a regular meeting Monday, Aug. 17 from 7 to 8 p.m. at Town Hall, and the 6th Grade and New Student Open House is set for Thursday, Aug. 27.

Families getting a jump on the year will find school supply lists for 2026-2027, student registration, and online fee payment through Payschools already posted on the district site.

Two more early-fall dates are worth marking now. Sept. 18 is an early dismissal day for staff training, and schools are closed Monday, Sept. 21 for Yom Kippur.

The district covers Lakeview Elementary School, Riverview Elementary School and Valleyview Middle School. Denville public high school students attend Morris Knolls High School in the Morris Hills Regional District, which publishes its own separate calendar.

The full 2026-2027 calendar is available on the district calendar page.
