The Morris County Tourism Bureau has launched a free Farm Trail Passport that points residents toward 13 working farms across the county and rewards them for making the rounds.
The program went live Tuesday, Aug. 11, 2026, with a launch event at Riamede Farm in Chester. Participating stops include Alstede Farms in Chester, Wightman Farms in Morristown, Ort Farms, Stony Hill Farms, Union Hill Farms, Ashley Farms, Bader Farm, Hawk Ridge Farm, High View Farms, Hoppy Valley Farm, Miller’s Hill Farm and The Feisty Pepper Garden Market.
Passports are free and available at every participating farm and at the Tourism Bureau office at 6 Court Street in Morristown. A printable version can also be downloaded. Visitors collect a stamp at each farm they visit. Five or more stamps earns a Morris County Farm Trail gift. Filling the passport completely enters the visitor in an annual grand prize drawing for a basket valued at roughly $1,200, stocked with products, merchandise, gift certificates and experiences donated by the farms and their partners.
There is one date worth marking. Passports completed and turned in by Tuesday, Sept. 15, 2026, earn one bonus entry in that drawing.
The trail covers farms, markets, orchards, wineries, cideries and seasonal festivals, and it is built to be worked through across all four seasons rather than in a single afternoon. Closer to home, the Denville Farmers Market and the recently reopened Valley Farm Stand in Boonton Township offer local produce without the drive.
“Agriculture has long been part of Morris County’s identity, and the Farm Trail Passport encourages residents and visitors to experience our local farms and support the families behind them,” Morris County Commissioner Director Stephen Shaw said in the county announcement. Shaw said the county’s Farmland Preservation Program has preserved 143 farms to date.
The Tourism Bureau developed the trail alongside the county’s farming community and received financial support from the Morris County Board of County Commissioners.
