A teacher at Morris Knolls High School has been charged with sexually assaulting a 17-year-old student at her home earlier this year, according to Morris County Prosecutor Robert J. Carroll.

Alyssa Perry, 35, of Rockaway Township, was formally charged on June 6 with two counts of second-degree sexual assault and one count of third-degree endangering the welfare of a child.

In March 2025, a Morris Knolls High School administrator reported concerns to the Denville Police Department and the Morris County Prosecutor’s Office regarding Perry’s alleged misconduct. A follow-up investigation revealed that Perry sexually assaulted the student on two separate occasions between February and March 2025 at her residence in Rockaway Township.

Authorities say Perry had previously served as the student’s tutor and is currently employed as a teacher at the school, where the student is enrolled. She has been suspended from her position.

Perry has been released under pretrial supervision. Conditions of her release include Level 3 monitoring, no contact with the victim or the school, and no interaction with any students. She is expected to appear in court on July 14, 2025, before Superior Court Judge Ralph Amirata.

The investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information is urged to contact the Morris County Prosecutor’s Office Sex Crimes/Child Endangerment Unit at 973-285-6200.

The case is being handled with the assistance of the Rockaway Township Police Department, the Denville Police Department, and the Morris County Prosecutor’s Office Sex Crimes/Child Endangerment Unit.
