71-year-old Rockaway man was killed in a single-car crash Sunday morning along Interstate 80 westbound in Morris County, authorities said.
New Jersey State Police responded to the scene at around 9:18 a.m. on June 8 near mile marker 44.4 in Parsippany-Troy Hills, according to Sgt. Jeffrey Lebron.
Preliminary findings indicate that a Kia Sportage, driven by Jon Defalco, was heading west when it veered off the right side of the highway and struck a guardrail. The impact caused the vehicle to overturn.
Defalco was fatally injured in the crash. The cause of the accident is still under investigation, and no additional details have been released at this time.
