Two men have been charged in connection with a series of motor vehicle burglaries in Denville, police said.

Rasheen N. Yarbrough, 20, of Newark, and Nnamdi C. Atumudo, 27, of Irvington, were identified as suspects following an investigation into a motor vehicle burglary that occurred on September 3, 2024, on Adams Drive. Authorities say the suspects not only burglarized one vehicle but also attempted to break into two additional vehicles on Adams Drive and Sunderland Road. They then allegedly attempted to use a stolen credit card from one of the victims at a business in Belleville, New Jersey.

Both men face multiple charges, including burglary, theft of credit cards, theft of moveable property, conspiracy to commit burglary, conspiracy to commit credit card theft, and criminal attempt.

Investigators with the Denville Detective Bureau identified Yarbrough and Atumudo as the suspects during the course of their inquiry. On January 21, 2025, both men, who were already in custody at separate jails for unrelated offenses, were officially charged.

Police confirmed that both suspects have been processed and served with their complaint warrants. They are scheduled to appear in Morris County Superior Court at a future date.

Editor’s Note: A criminal complaint is merely an allegation, and all defendants are presumed innocent unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
