All three teenage boys who went missing last week and were last seen at the Denville Train Station have been found safe, the Montville Township Police Department confirmed.
Brayden Morrissey, 14, Dominic Diliberto, 14, and William Connolly, 17, left an undisclosed location in Montville Township on Thursday night, police said. The three were spotted at the Denville Train Station around 5:30 p.m. Friday before continuing on to Connecticut.
After an initial search that used K-9 units and drones, investigators determined the boys had left the area and shifted to a missing persons investigation. The case drew regional and national attention through the weekend as the search widened across state lines.
Officers with the Metropolitan Transportation Authority located the boys at a train station in Stamford, Connecticut, on Saturday afternoon. Connolly was taken into protective custody first, and the two 14-year-olds were located a short time later. Montville Police Chief Andrew Caggiano said just after 8 p.m. Saturday that all three had been found.
Police said the boys appeared to have left on their own accord. No injuries were reported.
The Denville Train Station is a stop on NJ Transit’s Morristown Line and one of the busiest commuter hubs in the area, sitting in the heart of downtown. Authorities thanked the public and partner agencies for sharing information that helped bring the search to a close.
