A special online author event will take place on May 14 as writer Liann Zhang talks about her first novel Julie Chan is Dead. The event will run from 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM and will include a live conversation about the book and the story behind it.
Julie Chan is Dead is a dark and exciting thriller about twin sisters who lived very different lives. Julie Chan works as a cashier and has little to her name. Her twin sister Chloe VanHuusen is a famous influencer with a perfect-looking life. But when Chloe is found dead under strange circumstances, Julie decides to take her place.
At first, living as Chloe seems easy. Julie wears designer clothes, follows beauty routines, and enjoys life with millions of fans. But behind the glamour, Julie begins to learn that Chloe’s life was full of secrets and danger. During a weeklong island retreat with Chloe’s influencer friends, Julie starts to uncover what really happened — and learns she could be in danger too.
Liann Zhang will talk about how she came up with the idea, what it was like to write the book, and what readers can expect from this twisty and suspenseful story.
