A Morristown man is facing multiple charges following a traffic stop in Denville that resulted from a report of a possible drunk driver.

On June 10 at approximately 8:16 p.m., Denville Police located a vehicle on Route 46 near Franklin Road matching a caller’s description. During the stop, officers determined that the driver, 62-year-old Ronald C. Roccasecca, was under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs. Police also discovered he was in possession of a billy club.

Roccasecca was arrested and charged with possession of a prohibited weapon and issued multiple motor vehicle summonses, including driving while intoxicated, driving without an interlock device, reckless driving, careless driving, improper left turn, traffic on marked lanes, and having an open container of alcohol.

He was processed at Denville Police Headquarters and released to a sober friend, pending a future court date.

A criminal complaint is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
