A 33-year-old lost their life over the weekend after being pulled from the water at Cedar Lake Beach in Denville, authorities confirmed.
The incident occurred on the evening of Saturday, July 13. Emergency crews arrived around 5:50 p.m. after a 911 call reported a person found unresponsive in the lake. According to the Morris County Prosecutor’s Office, swimmers nearby had spotted the individual and called for help.
The person was taken to a local hospital where they were later pronounced dead. An autopsy is being conducted by the Morris County Medical Examiner’s Office.
Officials say that at this time, there is no indication of foul play. The case remains under review by both the Morris County Prosecutor’s Office and the Denville Police Department.
