Trick-or-treaters in Denville and across Morris County should get a dry, sunny Halloween on Saturday, Oct. 31, 2026, but it will turn chilly fast once the sun goes down, according to the latest National Weather Service forecast issued early Friday, Oct. 30.
The forecast for the Denville area calls for a sunny Saturday with a high near 60 and light northwest winds. The hourly outlook has temperatures near 58 at 5 p.m., about 55 at 6 p.m., 51 by 7 p.m. and 47 by 8 p.m. under clear to partly cloudy skies, with no rain expected. The overnight low drops to around 34, so plan on a warm layer under or over the costume for later rounds.
Sunset Saturday is at 5:54 p.m., which means most trick-or-treating will happen after dark. Reflective tape or a flashlight helps drivers spot kids on neighborhood streets.
Friday starts with patchy fog before 8 a.m., then turns sunny with a high near 69 and gusts up to 25 mph. Friday night falls to around 39.
Sunday, Nov. 1, is forecast to be mostly sunny with a high near 62. It is also the end of daylight saving time. Clocks fall back one hour at 2 a.m. Sunday, and sunset that evening moves up to 4:53 p.m.
The dry stretch holds into next week. Monday looks mostly sunny with a high near 65, and Tuesday, Nov. 3, Election Day, is forecast mostly sunny with a high near 69.
