The Denville Public Library has three Halloween programs on its calendar between Thursday, Oct. 22, and Tuesday, Oct. 27, 2026: a dance party and a costume storytime for preschoolers, plus a free virtual talk on New Jersey’s most haunted places for adults.

Monster Mash! Halloween Dance Party, Thursday, Oct. 22, 10:30 a.m. Ms. Ashley and Ms. Katie will lead preschoolers in dancing to Halloween songs at the library, 121 Diamond Spring Road. Siblings are welcome. Families sign up for one ticket on the library’s Eventbrite page and list each child’s name. The library asks kids to skip costumes for this one, since the dancing gets active and costumes can get too warm.

Saturday Halloween Storytime, Oct. 24, 10 a.m. Costumes are encouraged at this one. Ms. Laura will read “spooky-not-scary” Halloween stories and lead songs in the Library Meeting Room, and the group will then trick or treat through the library. It is a mixed-age session for all preschool ages, with siblings welcome. Registration is one ticket per family through the event’s sign-up page.

The Haunted History of New Jersey, Tuesday, Oct. 27, 7 to 8 p.m. Historian and paranormal investigator Greg Caggiano will walk through haunted historic sites around the state, including a former Royal Governor’s residence, a Victorian mansion, a Revolutionary War era house and a cemetery, along with the legend of the Jersey Devil. The adult program is free and runs on Zoom. RSVP on the library’s event page and the link will be sent before the talk.

The same week, the library also hosts its free scam prevention talk for adults on Thursday, Oct. 22, at 4:30 p.m. Looking for more ways to celebrate? The Mount Tabor Edgar Allan Poe program is set for Saturday, Oct. 24.

Questions can go to the library at 973-627-6555. The full schedule is on the Denville Public Library calendar.
