Edgar Allan Poe is coming to Mount Tabor. The Mount Tabor Historical Society and the Mount Tabor Branch of the Parsippany Library will present “A Morning with Edgar Allan Poe” at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 24, 2026, inside the Mount Tabor Tabernacle in Trinity Park. Admission is free.
Bob Gleason of the American Historical Theater takes the stage as Poe. According to the historical society’s event page, the program blends dramatized poems and frightening tales with a look at the writer himself: his work as a critic and editor, his long effort to earn a living with his pen, and his role as a pioneer of detective fiction, which is why mystery writing’s Edgar Awards carry his name.
The society suggests the morning for ages 8 and up. Families can sign up through the Register link on the event page, and questions go to the society at 973-975-0001.
Anyone making the short trip over the Denville line can also catch the society’s handcrafted quilt display, which stays up at the Mount Tabor Branch Library through Oct. 31. Some of the quilts are part of an online silent auction.
Looking for more to do this fall? The Witchery returns to Ayres Knuth Farm on Saturday, Oct. 17, and earlier this month the Pathways of History tour opened two local historic sites to visitors.
