Morris County law enforcement is rallying behind one of its own. PBA Local 151 is hosting a clam bake fundraiser for Christopher Murarik, a Morris County Sheriff’s Office K-9 officer who was diagnosed with ALS, the progressive neurological disease also known as Lou Gehrig’s disease.

The fundraiser runs Thursday, July 23, 2026, from 6 to 9 p.m. at Pub 199, at 199 Howard Boulevard in Mount Arlington. Tickets are $85 per person and include food, beverages, and more.

Detective Murarik serves with the Sheriff’s Office Bureau of Law Enforcement. Since his diagnosis, fellow officers and community members across Morris County have stepped up to support him and his family as they face the road ahead.

Organizers say every dollar helps. Those who cannot attend can still contribute by Venmo at @PBA-LocalMorris-SherrifLE or by check made out to PBA151, with “ALS Fundraiser” and the payer’s name noted in the memo. For tickets or questions, supporters can contact Rosie at (973) 477-1569.

The Sheriff’s Office serves residents across Denville and the rest of Morris County. Locally, the Denville Police Department and the town’s volunteer firefighters are among the first responders helping spread word of the event.

Full details are posted on the Morris County Sheriff’s Office announcement.
