Hope One Recovery Van Stops in Denville Tuesday, Sept. 22, 2026

The Morris County Sheriff’s Office brings its Hope One mobile recovery unit to Denville on Tuesday, Sept. 22, 2026, with staff on hand from 6:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

The van parks at the Morris County Aftercare Center at 273 E. Main Street. People who need help, or who are trying to help someone else, can walk up to the vehicle and talk with the team.

Hope One is staffed by a Sheriff’s officer, a licensed mental health professional and a certified peer recovery specialist. The crew connects people with treatment programs, mental health services and recovery support, and provides Narcan training and kits to family members and friends of people living with opioid addiction.

The Sheriff’s Community Services Unit runs the program with the Morris County Department of Human Services, the Mental Health Association of Morris County, and Morris County Prevention is Key through its Center for Addiction Recovery Education and Success, known as CARES. The vehicle travels four times a week to locations across Morris County so the services come to residents instead of the other way around.

The van itself once served in police tactical operations. The law enforcement markings are gone, replaced by a purple recovery ribbon and the county’s Stigma Free logo, and the crew sets out refreshments to make the stop easier to approach.

Denville has been a testing ground for this kind of work before. The township piloted the ARRIVE Together program that pairs officers with mental health professionals, which has since expanded countywide.
