Downtown Denville’s Fall Festival is off. The Downtown Denville Business Improvement District announced Saturday that the street festival planned for Sunday, Sept. 20, 2026 has been canceled because of the forecast.

The district shared the news on its official Facebook page, saying it was disappointed to call off the day and thanking the vendors, volunteers and businesses that had signed on. No rain date was announced.

The forecast backs the call. The National Weather Service point forecast for Denville, updated at 4:09 a.m. Sunday, puts the chance of precipitation at 100 percent, with rain through the day and thunderstorms possible after 5 p.m. Forecasters expect a high near 66, a quarter to a half inch of rain and south winds gusting to 20 mph. Rain and a possible thunderstorm continue into Sunday night before Monday turns partly sunny.

Denville’s fall calendar still has plenty left. The Great Denville Duck Race returns to Gardner Field on Saturday, Sept. 26, and the Pink Witches 5K runs through downtown on Sunday, Sept. 27, though that race has already hit capacity and registration is closed.

Anyone waiting on word from the business improvement district can watch its news page for updates.
