Denville Township School District families have a full year of days off, early dismissals and breaks to plan around. Here are the key dates from the 2026-27 Denville schools calendar, which the Board of Education approved in November 2025 and updated in August 2026. School started for students on Sept. 8, 2026.
No school for students
- Monday, Oct. 12: staff training day
- Thursday and Friday, Nov. 5 and 6: NJEA Convention
- Thursday and Friday, Nov. 26 and 27: Thanksgiving
- Thursday, Dec. 24 through Friday, Jan. 1, 2027: winter break
- Monday, Jan. 18, 2027: Martin Luther King Jr. Day
- Friday, Feb. 12 through Monday, Feb. 15, 2027: Presidents Day break
- Friday, March 26 through Friday, April 2, 2027: spring break
- Friday, May 28 through Monday, May 31, 2027: Memorial Day break
Early dismissals and delayed openings
- Oct. 28 and 29: early dismissal for parent conferences
- Oct. 30: early dismissal
- Nov. 25: early dismissal before Thanksgiving
- Dec. 9: two-hour delayed opening
- Dec. 23: early dismissal before winter break
- Jan. 15 and Feb. 11, 2027: early dismissal
- Mid-March 2027: early dismissals for spring parent conferences, starting Wednesday, March 17
- May 12, 2027: two-hour delayed opening
- June 24, 2027: early dismissal
Last day of school and snow days
The last day of school is Friday, June 25, 2027, which is also an early dismissal. The calendar builds in five emergency days. If more are needed, the district says they may be taken from May 21 and then from spring break, starting with April 2 and working backward, or by adding days in June. If the snow days go unused, days may be given back in May or June.
