The Denville Board of Education holds its regular September meeting tonight, Monday, Sept. 28, 2026, at 1 Saint Mary’s Place. Here is what residents need to know about who sits on the board, when it meets for the rest of 2026, and who is running for it on Nov. 3.
Who sits on the Denville Board of Education
The board has seven members who serve three-year terms and oversees the Denville Township School District, which runs Lakeview School, Riverview School and Valleyview Middle School. Dr. Clifford Moore is board president and Andrea Zeydelis is vice president. The other members are Christina Astorino, Don Casse, Michael Andersen, Dino Cappello and James Kim, according to the district’s board member page.
Dr. Sandra Cullis is superintendent. The district office is on the second floor of Town Hall at 1 St. Mary’s Place and can be reached at 973-983-6530.
Remaining 2026 meeting dates
- Monday, Sept. 28: regular meeting
- Monday, Oct. 12: work session
- Monday, Oct. 26: regular meeting
- Monday, Nov. 16: combined work session and regular meeting
- Monday, Dec. 14: combined work session and regular meeting
- Monday, Jan. 4, 2027: reorganization and work session
Meetings are scheduled for 7 p.m. at 1 Saint Mary’s Place. The board’s meeting schedule page notes that executive session starts at 7 p.m. and the public session at 7:30 p.m., and it posts a Google Meet link and call-in number for residents who want to follow along remotely.
Three seats on the Nov. 3 ballot
Three seats, each a three-year term, are up in the Nov. 3, 2026 general election. The terms held by Andersen, Cappello and Kim end Dec. 31, 2026. Four candidates filed, according to the Morris County Clerk’s official school board candidate list: Dino F. Cappello, Michael W. Andersen, Cameron Morissette and Won James Kim.
Denville voters will also see a Morris Hills Regional Board of Education race on their ballot. That board runs Morris Knolls High School, where Denville students go for grades 9 through 12. William Maher of Denville is listed as the Denville candidate for the regional board.
