Denville property owners have one quarterly tax payment left this year. Fourth quarter Denville property taxes are due Nov. 1, 2026, which falls on a Sunday this year. Here is how the grace period works, what late payments cost and how to pay.
Denville property tax due dates
Taxes in Denville are payable quarterly on Feb. 1, May 1, Aug. 1 and Nov. 1. According to the Tax Collector’s page, payments received after the 11th of the due month are subject to interest, and postmarks do not count as on-time payment. Mail early. This year Nov. 11 is Veterans Day, so anyone planning to pay in person near the deadline should check township office hours first.
Interest and penalties
- 8% a year on the first $1,500 of a delinquency
- 18% a year on any amount above $1,500
- An extra 6% penalty on delinquencies over $10,000 that are not paid by the end of the fiscal year
Unpaid prior-year balances for taxes, water, sewer or special assessments go to the township’s tax sale each fall. See our story on the 2026 Denville tax lien sale for how that process works.
