Dino Cappello, Cameron Morissette and Won James Kim hold the top three spots in the race for three seats on the Denville Township Board of Education, according to unofficial results the Morris County Clerk’s Office posted after the Nov. 3, 2026 general election.

Cappello leads the four-candidate field with 3,353 votes. Morissette is second with 3,309 and Kim is third with 3,176. Michael Andersen is fourth with 3,119, which puts him 57 votes behind Kim for the final seat. Voters also cast 82 write-in votes in the race.

The count is not final. The county’s election night results page says mail-in ballots that were postmarked on time and provisional ballots are still pending, and that totals can change until every ballot is counted. With a margin that narrow between third and fourth place, those remaining ballots matter.

Cappello, Kim and Andersen all sit on the board now, with terms that end Dec. 31, 2026, according to the district’s board member page. Morissette is the only candidate in the race who is not a current member. Board members serve three-year terms, so the winners will hold their seats through the end of 2029.

Denville’s seat on the Morris Hills Regional Board of Education was not contested. William Maher ran unopposed and received 4,900 votes.

Turnout in Denville reached about 50.6 percent, with 7,181 ballots cast out of 14,188 registered voters. That includes 2,174 early votes, 3,742 cast on Election Day and 1,265 mail-in ballots counted so far.
