Morris County is under a freeze warning this morning. The National Weather Service office in Mount Holly issued the warning for the county until 9 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 18, 2026, with temperatures expected to dip as low as 32 degrees.
The weather service’s warning also covers Warren and Hunterdon counties and several counties in eastern Pennsylvania. Forecasters say the cold can kill crops and other sensitive plants and may damage outdoor plumbing that is not protected.
If you still have tender plants or potted flowers outside, the weather service advises protecting them now. The Denville forecast also calls for widespread frost before 9 a.m.
After that, the week looks calm. Sunday turns sunny with a high near 58, and Sunday night drops to around 35 under clear skies. Monday reaches about 62, Tuesday about 64, Wednesday about 61 and Thursday about 64, with lows mostly in the low to mid 40s. Friday and Saturday stay sunny with highs near 60.
The seven-day forecast for Denville has no rain in it through Saturday, Oct. 24, which is good news for anyone heading to one of the many Halloween events around Denville or dropping off old medicine at Drug Take Back Day on Oct. 24. Last week’s Morris County weather outlook called for this weekend chill.
