Morris Knolls football opens the NJSIAA state tournament at home on Friday, Oct. 30, 2026, when the No. 3 Golden Eagles host No. 6 Summit in the North Jersey, Section 1, Group 4 quarterfinals. Kickoff is set for 6:30 p.m.
Can’t make it to the game? The NFHS Network, the official streaming partner of the state athletic association, is scheduled to carry it live.
The Golden Eagles enter the playoffs at 7-2. A six-game winning streak ended with a 28-21 loss to Chatham on Oct. 24, and their only other loss came in Week 2 at Roxbury. Through nine games, Morris Knolls has outscored opponents 355-156.
Summit comes in at 6-3 after falling 34-27 to Bernards last Saturday.
Roxbury is the top seed in the same section and hosts No. 8 Carteret on Oct. 30. The other quarterfinals send No. 5 Ridge to No. 4 Middletown South and No. 7 Woodbridge to No. 2 Northern Highlands.
A win would put Morris Knolls in the sectional semifinals on Friday, Nov. 6, against the winner of Woodbridge and Northern Highlands. A rematch with Roxbury could only happen in the sectional final, scheduled for Nov. 13.
Under the NJSIAA football calendar, higher seeds host through the sectional finals. The public state semifinals are set for Nov. 20 or 21, with the state finals planned for MetLife Stadium on Nov. 28 or 29.
