Drivers using Interstate 80 westbound to reach Route 15 in Morris County should expect lane closures through at least Thursday as the New Jersey Department of Transportation performs emergency bridge deck repairs.

The I-80 westbound Exit 34B ramp to Route 15 northbound will have a single lane closed from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Wednesday, April 8, and Thursday, April 9, in Wharton and Rockaway. If work is not completed by Thursday, closures will continue Friday, April 10 at the same hours.

On Wednesday, the left lane of the three-lane ramp is closed. On Thursday, the right lane will be closed. NJDOT advises motorists to slow down, use caution, and expect delays through the work zone.

The repairs are part of a larger $23.2 million federally funded project that will replace the Route 15 northbound Bridge over the Abandoned Mount Hope Mineral Railroad in Wharton and Rockaway. The full project also includes construction of a storm water detention basin and resurfacing of a portion of Route 15 northbound and the I-80 westbound exit ramp.
