The Denville Police Department fielded 3,010 calls for service in June 2026, according to the department’s latest monthly recap.
The report, posted to the department’s monthly reports page, breaks down a busy month across town. Officers logged 1,020 motor vehicle encounters, responded to 67 motor vehicle crashes, and answered 65 alarm and 911 responses. They also handled 152 fire and medical assists, 62 animal control calls, and 41 assists to other agencies.
On the enforcement side, officers made 25 adult arrests, including 6 for driving while intoxicated. The department also recorded 10 domestic incidents and 19 mental health crisis or missing person calls. Community work stayed heavy, with 182 community policing events and 876 residential and commercial property checks. Officers deployed a drone once during the month.
The recap also highlighted a motor vehicle theft investigation. On June 5, 2026, the Morristown Police Department recovered a stolen 2011 Isuzu dump truck being operated by Timothy Geary. After Geary’s arrest, investigators determined the truck had been stolen from a Denville business. The Denville Police Detective Bureau followed up and charged Geary with third-degree burglary and third-degree theft of a motor vehicle. He was lodged in the Morris County Correctional Facility pending a court appearance in Morris County Superior Court.
