Denville Police made six arrests over a five day stretch this month, according to a department release covering July 18 through July 22.
Two were drunk driving stops. On July 18 at about 4:20 p.m., an officer pulled over a vehicle on Bloomfield Avenue for an inoperable passenger side brake light and identified the driver as Garry Della-Calce. After field sobriety testing, Della-Calce was arrested and issued summonses for driving under the influence, careless driving, reckless driving and maintenance of lamps.
The next night at about 10:30 p.m., officers stopped a car traveling well below the posted speed limit on Route 46 East and identified the driver as Florentin Flores-Zapata. He was arrested after field sobriety testing and issued summonses for driving under the influence, careless driving, reckless driving, delaying traffic and having an open container of alcohol in a vehicle.
Officers charged two more people after a July 22 stop on Route 10 East, where police said a speeding car held a controlled dangerous substance and drug paraphernalia. Driver Brittany Muccia was charged with drug possession, possession of drug paraphernalia, operating a vehicle while in possession of a controlled dangerous substance, careless driving and a seat belt violation. Passenger Christopher Lininger, who had an active warrant, was charged with obstruction, drug possession and paraphernalia possession, then turned over to Ewing Township police.
Two other arrests came out of outstanding warrants. On July 21, officers responded to Saint Clare’s Hospital at 25 Pocono Road for a man repeatedly calling 9-1-1 and identified him as Justin Gallant, who had an active $750 warrant out of Morristown Municipal Court. On July 22, a pedestrian stop on Route 46 East led to the arrest of Katelynn Shipps on active warrants, and officers charged her with possession of drug paraphernalia.
The same release included the July 20 shoplifting case at the CVS on East Main Street that Denville Now reported last week. The department also logged 3,010 calls for service in June.
